• Victoria Performs in Italian Futurist Sintesi

Posted on October 15th, 2009 Victoria No comments

Victoria is performing several Italian Futurist sintesi (short plays) that she translated over 35 years ago (!) for the seminal book Italian Futurism Performance written by her then-husband Michael Kirby that included her translations of manifestos and sintesi.  Several institutions in San Francisco are celebrating the 100th anniversary of F.T. Marinetti’s Futurist Manifesto, including the Italian Institute of Culture, where she performed Education during the opening of a Depero exhibit on October 14, and Brava Theatre, where she performs in eight sintesi three times on Sunday, October 18.  She says, “Little did I think I’d being doing performance art again. If I had known I’d been performing some of the sintesi, I might have translated them a bit differently, to make speaking the lines easier!.”
