• Victoria Performed in Italian Futurist Sintesi

Victoria performed several Italian Futurist sintesi (short plays) in 2009 that she translated over 35 years ago (!) for the seminal book Italian Futurism Performance written by her then-husband Michael Kirby that included her translations of manifestos and sintesi.  Several institutions in San Francisco celebrated the 100th anniversary of F.T. Marinetti’s Futurist Manifesto, including the Italian Institute of Culture, where she performed Education during the opening of a Depero exhibit on October 14, 2009, and Brava Theatre, where she performed in eight sintesi three times on Sunday, October 18, 2009.  She says, “Little did I think I’d being doing performance art again. If I had known I’d been performing some of the sintesi, I might have translated them a bit differently, to make speaking the lines easier!.”

Victoria Tupper Kirby is pleased to announce the launch of her own blog (website) on which she will display her prints and other art work and keep readers informed of her art exhibits and other news. After launching a blog (www.canyonleap.com) for her grandfather’s work and biography Allen Tupper True: An American Artist – coming out this month, she finally got around to having Alissa Piece design one for her.  I hope you like it!
